I'm telling you, its love.

People always look at my civic and say something to the effect of "that’s your fast civic? I thought you said it was cool.” Or I’ll go to the Friday night drags and I will get asked to race by every stock carbed crx, cavalier, and neon out there, but then I’ll ask a mustang to race and he’ll about choke on his own spit laughing (then not talk to me when I beat him, haha. I dont beat them all, though). Well for all those people and the people who read this site and think “wtf is he modifying an ass colored civic for?” I figured I would ramble on about why I love my civic.

First there is the sleeper effect. No one thinks its quick in ANY way. I even drive by other Honda enthusiasts (real ones, not the rice boy type) and they wont give me a second look. They glance over and probably think “old crappy civic sedan, so what?” Most people are attention whores and wouldn’t like this, but this anonymity affords me some great things.

1. I don’t get hassled by the cops. Ever. I often drive by them at 10+ over the speed limit (accidental, really) and they glance at the car then move on to whatever they were doing before.
2. Thieves don’t care. Don’t get me wrong, I am a paranoid bastard and have taken some precautions to make sure it doesn’t get stolen/broken into. But how many thieves would look at a stock/crappy looking EF sedan and think “jackpot”? I bet not many. And I bet even less when they look in and see no stereo.
3. I don’t like a lot of attention from people. In the civic no one messes with me and I get to weave in and out of traffic while people don’t look or probably notice.

Eddy's sleeper effect:
yes, this pic again

OMG! rust!

And of course I love the quickness. Sure its not insanely fast but its definitely quick, well rounded, and fucking fun to drive. It is by far the most fun car I’ve ever driven. Its probably the most well rounded car I’ve ever driven too. Its quicker than most stock cars, lighter than most any car, and has much better handling than many “sports cars.”

The little bit o' quickness:
stock b20z, 2020lbs, 2240ft

Its cheap to drive. I do use 92 octane in it because of the chip but it still gets 32-34 miles to the gallon. That’s right; it gets better gas mileage than my old integra got. There’s nothing else to say about that. Eat that domestipiles.

Cheapness proof that would hold up in court:
dana nana nana nana, mullet man!

It passes emissions. I didn’t even have to change the chip. It just passed. The emissions weren’t super low on the spectrum but they were within the allowed frame for the stock 1.5 liter. The guy at the testing place even argued with me telling me that it was a 1.5 liter. Then I showed him the block stamp and he shut up. Moron. Like I don’t know what I have.

Emissions sheet:
take the pointer off me! biotch!

So yes, it runs mid-low 14s (at 2240 ft), kicks some ass at the autoxs, get 32+ miles to the gallon, passes emissions, and no one knows its cool. That is why I am in love with my rusty-mocha-colored-unpainted-bumper-equipped beast of a civic, and I don’t care if you don’t like it.
